The Australian Karting Association introduced a Cyber Policy into karting this month.

The policy was introduced to continue with good sportsmanship in karting at all times.  With the advancement of social media in today’s society, karting is no longer left at the track.  Karters form great relationships with other members and communicate thru internet, social media sites and mobile phones.

The policy outlines that the use of mobile phones, internet and social networking sites will not be used to abuse, harass or threaten members of the karting community.  Not following this policy will affect a members driving record as it would if the abuse had happened on the track.

This is a great display by AKA with keeping with the times.  The policy can be downloaded from our link.

I am extremely psleaed to read of Caterham's aims to introduce a Caterham Motorsport-run karting championship. Reading that the aim is to target the mass-market of parents and youngsters who would like to race in a competitive and yet affordable karting series which, until now, might have been an unachievable dream , makes a 17-year old like myself feel overwhelmed that there could be the opportunity to race competitively in a karting series. From a young age I have always dreamt of having the opportunity to race in motorsport. It has always been clear to my family and peers that I have had potential to be very talented at the sport of karting. However, as stated above, it can be an exceedingly expensive sport to get into and unfortunately the dream of being able to prove myself behind the wheel has not happened for me. I continue to visit my local indoor karting arena (Rayleigh Indoor Karting) and set fastest lap times, hoping that I will be given the opportunity to escalate to a higher level of the sport.I will be following any updates on this post and look forward to finding out more.Jordan,EssexUK
